23. 10. 202626
Tentokrát dorazilo 26 dobrovolníků a čekala nás výsadba dalších 50 ovocných stromků.
To mě opravdu potěšilo.
Kolem půl druhé odpoledne jsme měli hotovo, přesně podle plánu, a mohli jsme se přesunout na zasloužený oběd do malebné místní hospůdky U Trojánků. Řízek po dobře odvedené práci chutná obzvlášť dobře.
Podařilo se nám zase o kousek zkrášlit a oživit okolní krajinu. Vracíme ovocné stromy podél polních cest tam, kde kdysi bývaly, a spolu s nimi alespoň částečně i původní ráz krajiny.
Velké díky všem dobrovolníkům z Everpure, obci Ohrobec, dětem i paní učitelce z místní základní školy!

On Friday 23 October 2026, we got together with the volunteers from Everpure for our 11th tree-planting event, and our third in the village of Ohrobec. Over the years, we've planted 536 trees and 35 shrubs together, including 134 fruit trees in Ohrobec alone. And you can really see the difference in the landscape!
This time, 26 volunteers joined us to plant another 50 fruit trees. Just like in the spring, children from the fifth grade of the local primary school joined us too. The weather was on our side, the sun was shining, and we were all set for a great day of planting.
After a quick briefing and a few words of thanks from the mayor, we split into smaller groups and got started. Our regular tree-planting companion Vojta, a pomologist and fruit-tree expert, was there too. He took the children aside for a little chat about fruit trees and how to plant them properly.
We soon discovered that the holes had been dug more than generously, so this time there was going to be a lot more filling in than digging.
And how did the children get on with the planting? Well, I couldn't help noticing that while the girls were hard at work, some of the boys seemed far more interested in the trolley full of refreshments. Within minutes, it had been completely cleared out. Nothing left. Absolutely nothing. I heard the homemade cake was really tasty.
If our children are as enthusiastic about studying as they are about eating, the future looks very bright indeed!
I always love having local children involved in our planting events. A tree they've planted themselves is something they'll remember for the rest of their lives. And it clearly meant something to them. After the school session had finished, two of the children actually came back with their parents to show them what we'd been doing and, most importantly, to point out their own tree. That really made my day.
By around 1.30 pm, we'd finished everything, right on schedule, and it was time for a well-earned lunch at U Trojánků, our lovely little local pub. A good schnitzel always tastes even better after a few hours of hard work!
Once again, we'd managed to make our countryside a little greener and more beautiful. We're bringing fruit trees back to the old field paths where they used to grow, helping to restore some of the landscape's original character. I hope these trees will keep growing and bringing joy to many generations to come.
And finally, one little comment from a young volunteer that made me laugh. One of the boys told me he would rather plant trees with me than do maths.
So it looks like I've already found my successor!
A big thank you to all the volunteers from Everpure, the village of Ohrobec, and the children and their teacher from the local primary school!
