V Žiželicích opečovali podzimní výsadbu stromů na Zbraň

Dne 12. dubna byly v Žiželicích naplánovány dvě akce: ranní výsadba nové aleje u polní cesty k dálnici a slavnostní spuštění pohyblivého betlému na pozdější odpoledne. A jak vyplnit čas mezi jednotlivými akcemi?
Jak jinak než pohybem a péčí o dříve vysazené stromy :-)
U nově vzniklé polní cesty Končice–Zbraň se sešlo přes dvacet dobrovolníků, kteří se bez váhání pustili do přesouvání štěpky z přistaveného valníku ke stromům. Cílem bylo zamulčovat více než čtyřicet stromů. Štěpkou bylo potřeba pokrýt ve vrstvě 8–10 cm nejen vnitřní prostor zálivkové mísy, ale i hliněný val a jeho okolí. To totiž snižuje odpar vody z půdy a brání růstu trávy a plevelů, které by stromům v budoucnu odebíraly vláhu.
Všechny práce bavila. Tři kolečka byla neustále v permanenci, spousta lidí přenášela štěpku v kýblech… a než jsme se nadáli, bylo hotovo a šlo se na zasloužené opékání špekáčků.
Velké díky všem, kteří dorazili. A místním přejeme, ať se stromy krásně zelenají a betlém přináší radost nejen o Vánocích, ale i během roku. Jste skvělá parta a obojí si zasloužíte.
On April 12th, two events were planned in Žiželice. The morning planting of a new alley by the local way to the highway. And the ceremonial launch of the mobile nativity scene later in the afternoon. And how to fill the time between these events?
How else but by moving and taking care of the previously planted trees :-)
Over 20 volunteers gathered at the newly created dirt road Končice-Zbraň and without hesitation they started moving wood chips from a parked flatbed truck to the trees. The goal was to mulch over 40 trees. Cover the wood chips with a layer of 8-10 cm not only the inner space of the watering bowl, but also the earthen embankment and the surrounding area. This will reduce the evaporation of water from the soil and the growth of grass and weeds, which would take moisture from the trees in the future.
Everyone enjoyed the work. Three carriers were constantly on duty, lots of people were carrying wood chips in buckets... before we knew it, it was done and we were off to a well-deserved toasting of sausages.
A big thank you to everyone who came. And we wish the locals that the trees will be green and the nativity scene will bring joy not only at Christmas, but also throughout the year. You are a great bunch and you deserve both.
