DP WORLD spolu s žáky ZŠ dosázeli stromy a keře ve Škvorci

Ve středu 19.11.2025 jsme se ve Škvorci sešli podruhé, tentokrát se žáky 9. třídy Základní školy Škvorec a dokonce taky se zaměstnanci DP World Logistics Czech s.r.o., sponzorem výsadby. Měli jsme také znovu zastoupení vedení obce - zúčastnila se paní zastupitelka obce MUDr. Lenka Horáková, která se zasloužila o úplné počátky přípravy výsadby.
Velmi výrazně přituhlo, takže ranní sraz na polní cestě, kde měly přibýt další stromy, nebyl nic příjemného. Foukal ledový vítr a všichni přítomní se chtěli rychle zahřát prací. Nemohli jsme však vynechat úvodní instruktáž, takže posloužil alespoň horký čaj. Pak už se devět kluků z devítky a pětičlenná parta z DP World chopili rýčů a šlo se na věc.
Čekalo nás zasadit zbylých 9 stromů ke 3 kůlům a 21 keřů (a nadto jsme ještě do jam, které byly vyhloubeny navíc vysadili 2 hrušně pořízené obcí). Počet se nezdál veliký, ale v té zimě a už namrzlé půdě to nakonec nebylo tak snadné. Ale postupně se trochu oteplilo a hlína/ bahno začlo tát :) To se začalo projevovat na zabahněných rukavicích a botách, ale i na naší psí společnici Luně, která taky svědomitě pracovala a nosila všechny možné klacky.
Nakonec ale byly všechny jeřáby, třešně, jabloně, hrušně spolu s keři vysazeny někdy po 12 hodině, tedy dokonce s předstihem dle plánu. Pan učitel Petr Jindra klukům dokonce přichystal táborák s buřty za odměnu. DP World byli již zkušení sazeči - vysadili polovinu stromů a jelikož spěchali zpět do klasického pracovního procesu, tak bohužel zmeškali závěrečné povídání u ohně. Vážíme si toho, že nám přijeli osobně pomoci! A obrovské poděkování za financování nejen celé letošní výsadby ve Škvorci (34 stromů ke 3 kůlům a 62 keřů), ale i dvou povýsadbových péčí ve dvou následujících letech. Nadace DP World Foundation podpořila tento projekt s cílem zapojit místní komunitu do vytváření lepšího životního prostředí i s cílem zajistit udržitelnost vysazených dřevin.
Děkujeme ještě jednou městysu Škvorec za celou akci, paní zastupitelce za aktivní zapojení i spolu s muži z technických služeb, dobrovolníkům z řad studentů ZŠ Škvorec a společnosti DP World za velké nasazení.
Těším se na viděnou v příštím roce při pečování o stromy.

On Wednesday, 19 November 2025, we met in Škvorec for the second time, this time with 9th-grade students from Škvorec Primary School and also with employees of DP World Logistics Czech s.r.o., the sponsor of the planting. We were again joined by a representative of the municipal leadership – Municipal Councillor MUDr. Lenka Horáková, who was involved in the very beginnings of the preparation of the planting.
It got very cold, so the morning meeting on the field road, where more trees were to be planted, was not very pleasant. An icy wind was blowing and everyone present wanted to warm up quickly by working. However, we could not skip the introductory briefing, so at least hot tea helped. Then nine boys from the 9th grade and a five-member team from DP World grabbed their spades and got to work.
We were to plant the remaining 9 trees with 3 stakes each and 21 shrubs (and additionally, we planted 2 pear trees purchased by the municipality into extra holes that had already been dug). The number did not seem large, but in the cold weather and already frozen ground, it was not that easy in the end. Gradually, however, it warmed up a bit and the soil/mud began to thaw :) This became evident in the muddy gloves and boots, as well as on our canine companion Luna, who also worked diligently and carried all kinds of sticks.
In the end, all the rowans, cherries, apple trees and pear trees together with the shrubs were planted sometime after noon, even ahead of schedule. Teacher Petr Jindra even prepared a campfire with sausages as a reward for the boys. The DP World team were already experienced planters – they planted half of the trees, and since they had to hurry back to their regular work duties, they unfortunately missed the final gathering by the fire. We truly appreciate that they came to help us in person! And a huge thank you for financing not only this year’s entire planting in Škvorec (34 trees with 3 stakes each and 62 shrubs), but also two post-planting care sessions in the following two years. The DP World Foundation supported this project with the aim of involving the local community in creating a better environment and ensuring the sustainability of the planted trees.
Once again, we thank the municipality of Škvorec for the entire event, the municipal councillor for her active involvement together with the men from the technical services, the student volunteers from Škvorec Primary School, and the company DP World for their great commitment.
We look forward to seeing you again next year when we return to care for the trees.
