Volume 8 - Obnova ovocných stromů v Jílovém u Prahy
V pátek 21.3. jsme se již po 8. potkali s dobrovolníky ze spol. Pure Storage Czech Republic s.r.o. v Jílovém u Prahy. Čekala nás obnova aleje podél cesty a výsadba 35 ovocných stromků ke 3 kůlům (staré odrůdy jabloní, hrušní, třešní). Slavnostního zahájení se ujal místostarosta, který poděkoval jménem obce a hned pospíchal na svatbu oddávat. Půda byla měkká, jak bylo slíbeno, ale bohužel byly všude kořeny a každá vykopaná jáma nás stála nemalé úsilí. Uprostřed sázení jsme udělali pauzu na jídlo, které již tradičně přivezla kolegyně z PS a pak nastal kritický okamžik dne - zvednout se ze země s plným břichem a opět se chopit nářadí… S menším či větším úsilím se to nakonec povedlo všem a posledních 12 stromků jsme již měli za chvilku.
Následovala tradiční hromadná fotka, opékání buřtů s krásným výhledem do krajiny a neformálním potlachem. V průběhu sázení nás minulo několik školáků vracejících se ze školy a já již viděl ve své mysli, jak jdou za pár let cestou ze školy a trhají si naše jablka, hrušky, třešně. Měli jsme krásný sluneční den a nádherný výhled do malebné krajiny. Bylo to první sázení, kterého se nemohla zúčastnit Silvana, která je hnacím motorem nás všech a našeho společného sázení. Celkově jsme se s PS setkali po 8. a společně vysázeli 410 stromů (327 ovocných, 83 lip a dubů) a 35 keřů!! Děkujeme!
Volume 8 - Restoration of Fruit Trees in Jílové u Prahy
On Friday, March 21st, we met for the 8th time with volunteers from Pure Storage in Jílové u Prahy. Our task was to restore the alley along the path and plant 35 fruit trees with three stakes each (old varieties of apple, pear, and cherry trees). The deputy mayor officially opened the event, expressing his gratitude on behalf of the municipality before rushing off to officiate a wedding.
The soil was soft, as promised, but unfortunately, there were roots everywhere, making every hole we dug a real challenge. Midway through the planting, we took a break for a meal, traditionally brought by our PS colleague. Then came the most critical moment of the day - getting up from the ground with full stomachs and picking up the tools again. With varying degrees of effort, everyone managed, and soon, the last 12 trees were planted.
Afterward, we took the traditional group photo, roasted sausages while enjoying a beautiful view of the landscape, and had an informal chat. During the planting, several schoolchildren passed by on their way home, and in my mind, I could already see them, a few years from now, picking our apples, pears, and cherries on their way from school. We had a beautiful sunny day with a stunning view of the picturesque countryside.
This was the first planting without Silvana, who has always been the driving force behind our efforts and our shared planting tradition. Overall, this was our 8th meeting with PS, during which we have planted a total of 410 trees (327 fruit trees, 83 lindens, and oaks) and 35 shrubs! Thank you!
